HALOMED 5 (Fluoxymesterone)

HALOMED 5 (Fluoxymesterone) is used in the treatment of hypogonadism in males, breast cancer in females, and anaemia. HALOMED 5 is manufactured as fluoxymesterone 5mg tablets that contain 5mg of fluoxymesterone and excipients.

Fluoxymesterone Mechanism of Action

Fluoxymesterone is a potent androgen receptor agonist exhibiting more androgenic than anabolic properties. This makes it useful in the treatment of androgen deficiency in males. It has little or no progestogenic and appears to inhibit estrogen, which makes it useful in the treatment of breast cancer. Fluoxymesterone also has some effects on the glucocorticoid receptor. Fluoxymesterone has a half-life of 9.2 hours, metabolized in the liver and eliminated in the urine.

5mg daily taken orally.

Fluoxymesterone Side effects

Virilization in women and children, gynecomastia, hypertension, low moods, anxiety, changes in libido, and headaches.

Fluoxymesterone Interactions

Anisindione, dicumarol, ketoconazole, leflunomide, mipomersen, lomitapide, pexidartinib, teriflunomide, and warfarin.
